Politican Said He Was Going To Smoke A Joint In Office For Marijuana Legalization.

No, I am not kidding you. There is actually a politician who said he was going to spark one up in parliament nonetheless, to promote a campaign for the legalization of marijuana. Don't start cheering yet, it wasn't a U.S. politician. A polish politician, lawmaker and philosopher Janusz Palikot made the announcement he was going to light up to kick off the campaign that would make marijuana possession legal in Poland.

A fellow MP and speaker Ewa Kopacz didn't like his plan so much. Kopacz immediately informed the prosecutor of Palikot’s plan.

The prosecutor’s reaction was no surprise to those who have experienced the workings of marijuana prohibition. Even though the joint that Palikot lit up was not even marijuana, but some sort of cannabis incense, he could be charged simply for talking about smoking real marijuana. In Poland, it is illegal to advertise or promote the substance, which the prosecutor alleges is what Palikot did. Palikot could face up to a year in prison for what he did in Parliament.

This sort of reaction came as no surprise to Palikot

All Palikot did was tell reporters "This is the weed," As he was lighting up a large incense stick containing what he said was a "legal quantity of marijuana." This was done in his office in the lower house of parliament.

“I want to condemn the hypocrisy concerning marijuana consumption,” Palikot told reporters.

Poland along with several other European countries are reviewing their drug laws and taking steps to soften their marijuana policies. Most recently, lawmakers in Copenhagen, Denmark introduced a bill that would allow for possession and sales of marijuana within certain areas of the city

If only we had politicians like this in the U.S. The closest to that is Ron Paul, who is actually running for president now. Unfortunately Ron Paul does not campaign as much and not to many people know about him and what he stands for. His beliefs are old school but are the way things should be.

This brings me to another topic that I won't get into much detail here, but I will say you should take a little time and find out what Ron Paul is all about. I wanted to show you a 10 minute video on him that I think everyone should see, but I could not find it. However I did find a much longer video. Even if you don't have time to watch the whole thing, please just watch a few minutes worth. After that you will want to watch the whole thing. If everyone watched this whole video it would wake a lot of people up.

Even though that video got off topic a little bit I thought it was important to show the type of politician this country needs. Right now we do everything half ass backwards, excuse my language.
